US paper mill design awards, Gold Quill, needed a design for their awards scheme. We created a paper curled quill, giving a huge burst of colour – which, when printed, shows off the quality of the paper the mill crafts.

We aren’t strangers to projects where budgets can provide constraints. But we often find this allows for some creative solutions. The internal pages we printed in just black on blue paper, with a small amount of outer pages in full colour with our paper quill photography. The internal pages were cut narrower than the outer pages, meaning, even when you’re flicking through the black and blue pages, you get strips of bright colour on the edges.
